Rug Care

A quality rug is an investment in your home. Whether you've chosen a wool, cotton, jute, polyester or indoor/outdoor rug, proper care will help preserve its appearance, comfort and longevity.

Rotate Your Rug

Rotate your rug every 4–6 months to ensure even wear and minimise fading from direct sunlight.

Vacuum Regularly

  • Vacuum once or twice a week (more often in high-traffic areas).
  • Use suction only on delicate or handwoven rugs.
  • Avoid aggressive rotating brush heads on natural fibres.

Protect from Sunlight

Limit prolonged exposure to direct sunlight by rotating your rug regularly or using curtains and blinds where possible.

Use a Rug Underlay

A quality underlay helps prevent slipping, protects your flooring, reduces wear and extends the life of your rug.

New Rug Shedding

Light shedding is normal with new wool and hand-tufted rugs and will reduce over time. Do not pull loose fibres—carefully trim them with scissors if needed.

Spills & Stain Care

If a spill occurs:

  • Blot immediately with a clean, dry white cloth.
  • Never rub the stain.
  • Work from the outside towards the centre.
  • Allow the rug to dry completely.

For stubborn stains, we recommend using a professional rug cleaning specialist.
